Incoming U15 Players

May 27, 2014

Dear U14 WUSC, OSA, SSC, LOSC, CUSC, and OCSC Families:

We hope this email finds you all well. As many of you know this is a very exciting time for our teams given the quality program we have put in place for the upcoming U15 year. First off we are excited to announce that we will hold some joint training sessions. Joint summer training sessions are:

Girl's dates/times/locations will be July 15 and July 17 at Palisades Elementary from 7 to 8.30pm.

For the majority of the summer each U14 team within WUSC, SSC, LOSC, CUSC, and OCSC will operate mainly with their own schedule. Individual teams already have summer plans so the joint training sessions will be a great opportunity for the coaching staff to familiarize themselves with players and for all of the players to meet one another and broaden their horizons. Over the course of the summer if any of our teams need assistance with players then we will do what we can to borrow them from fellow Crossfire Oregon teams and we will also use it as an opportunity to invite new players to our program. However, if we invite new players from outside an Crossfire Oregon club we must ensure we follow the correct protocol and get it cleared with the incoming player's DOC.

The 2 training sessions are open to non-WUSC, SSC, LOSC, OCSC, and CUSC players. We would just ask that prior to players coming out they inform their existing clubs that they are planning on attending the trainings.

Coaching assignments have not yet been set but please be assured the quality of the coaching will be exceptional based on the pooling of coaching resources between our clubs. We will look to have coaching assignments set by the end of June. Tryouts will begin Sunday August 3 and we will look to conclude the process as soon as we can while ensuring we are as efficient as we can be. We imagine that teams will be formed by the end of the week.

Our hope is to form as many quality teams as we can support at the U15 age group for each gender. There are a great deal of quality soccer players pooling together to come into tryout for our U15 teams. Exactly how many teams we form will be based on the number of players who try out and the number of players who accept position on our teams. For the 2013/2014 season we formed 4 U15 girl's teams.

Exactly how we structure teams in an age group is decided at the time of the tryout process based on numbers and quality of players. Some examples are shown below.

Please note that this may change depending on the circumstances at tryouts.

From tryouts in 2011 we formed 4 girl's teams CROSSFIRE OREGON Blue I, CROSSFIRE OREGON Blue II, CROSSFIRE OREGON White West, and CROSSFIRE OREGON White East.

We formed 2 boy's teams CROSSFIRE OREGON Green and CROSSFIRE OREGON Black.

From tryouts in 2012 we formed 3 girl's teams CROSSFIRE OREGON Blue, CROSSFIRE OREGON White, and CROSSFIRE OREGON White II

We formed 4 boy's teams CROSSFIRE OREGON Green I, CROSSFIRE OREGON Green II, CROSSFIRE OREGON Black I, and CROSSFIRE OREGON Black II

Please be assured that we have held a number of meetings to discuss next year and the opportunities we can provide for all of the player's within the new program. Our aim is to provide a quality experience for as many players as we can.

After tryouts finish and teams form the players then will basically be done with CROSSFIRE OREGON and will focus on their upcoming High School tryouts. CROSSFIRE OREGON teams will have somewhat differing schedules depending on what their game schedules are in November, December, and January. CROSSFIRE OREGON players can expect some trainings in November and December and the 2014 OPL Winter League season will start in late January.

For the 2014/2015 girl's season we anticipate forming strong teams even with the introduction of Crossfire United ECNL. Our Crossfire Oregon Reserves team will participate in the WCDA and will still represent an excellent opportunity for those players who decide not to or who do not make the ECNL pool.

There will be more information to follow but if anyone has any questions for now please feel free to contact your current club DOC, current team coach, or jimbrazeau@comcast.net for boy's teams related questions, Kibwe Cuffie kibwe@southsidesoccer.org for girl's teams related questions.

Many thanks,

Jim Brazeau (Willamette United)

Fraser Morrison (Lake OswegoSC)

Adam Leyland (CUSC)
