Oregon City Soccer Club (OCSC) provides one of the most complete and comprehensive soccer programs available within Oregon. Starting from U5 (5 year olds), families and players participating with OCSC have several avenues of opportunities available to them. From our excellent all volunteer supported recreational program to our developmental and classic program and our fun Winter Skills Camp. Players have many options to play and develop. For the parent, we strive to provide a clear direction for each player that will help them growth both as players and as responsible young adults.
On the competitive side, OCSC offers a complete program starting at the U9 level for both boys and girls and continuing up through the U18 level (for our high-school competitive program.) OCSC competitive plays within the OPL or PML (depending on the season, team, and coaches plan.) Entry into the OCSC competitive program is based on a yearly tryout which takes place in May (or August for our HS Winter Program). Registration for tryouts opens in April. There are also supplemental tryouts that take place throughout the year based on team needs and space availability.
The OCSC competitive program:
- · Tryouts take place in May
- · Player selection and team formation in May
- · Practice begins in May and continues through November
- · Summer tournaments start in late June and end in September (TBD based on team schedules)
- · Fall season within the OPL starts in August and runs through October
- · Spring season within the OPL begins in February and runs through April
All teams are coached by club staffed coaches. The focus within OCSC competitive programs is centered on player development. This comes from an appreciation for the game, refinement of basic skills, development of more advanced skills, and an understanding of field play, positioning, and more advanced team strategies. All players are mentored and guided through the program giving them the guidance they need to develop well rounded skills.
